General Resource Links

Revised Common Lectionary, Gloria's Page

This site provides the basic scriptures of the Revised Common Lectionary and also provides a DAILY Bible reading strategy that covers the entire biblical text in 3 years. It does this while linking to the lectionary holy days (Sundays, etc.). It is the only daily Bible reading strategy I know of based on the Revised Common Lectionary.

Click Lectionary Basics and/or Lectionary Preaching for more about the lectionary and it's use in individual study and around churches.

Discover the Bible, George Larsen's website

Nazarene Links

International Church of the Nazarene

This is the home site for the denomination called Nazarene.  There are Nazarene churches in over 150 world areas.

Nazarene Compassionate Ministries

The Church of the Nazarene has local presence in practically every world area. So whenever a political or natural crisis arises almost anywhere in the world we have our own "people on the ground." A few of these are missionaries, a large number of these are local pastors native to the area, and nearly 2 million of these are local Nazarene laypeople. For years, Nazarene Compassionate Ministries have very successfully worked through the network of Nazarene churches. I (Tim) have found this organization is a dependable and credible channel to get compassionate resources to needy areas around the world.

Northern California Nazarene District

Around the world the International Church of the Nazarene is organized into districts, which are collections of many local churches and often a few compassionate ministries in a limited geographic area. The NorCal District is comprised of about 70 Nazarene congregations and a few compassionate ministries, all located in the western section of northern California (extending from King City to the Oregon border, and inland but not so far as Sacramento). The NorCal District Superintendent is Dr. John Calhoun.

New Life Nazarene Church, Cupertino, CA

This is the church where I (Tim) served as senior pastor for 18 years. New Life is located in the NorCal District.  If you live in the west San Jose area and are looking for a church, please give this one a try! There you will find English, Mandarin, and Cantonese language congregations, with integrated ministries to children, teens, Global Missions, Local Compassion. There is also a fine Christian preschool run by the church, and a fine after-school program that rents space on campus.

Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego, CA.

This is a private university that is closely affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene. It is particularly strong in nursing, premed, education, and music. For more on how it fits into the universe of universities, see College Strategies.

Grace and Peace Magazine

A dialogical resource for Nazarene clergy.

Nazarene Pastors Magazine

This magazine is now available online, offering a range of resources for pastors. It has a subsection dedicated to preaching.  It's worth a look.
