Tithes & Offerings Revisited

posted Mar 1, 2011, 6:29 AM by Tim Isbell   [ updated Mar 1, 2011, 6:45 AM ]
Giving money to the Lord's church is a way we respond to his grace, a way we affirm to Jesus that he is Lord, a way we invest in the Kingdom, and a statement to the powers of darkness that money is not our God.  In addition to more thoroughly explaining the concepts of giving Tithes/General Offerings (unrestricted money) and Special Offerings (restricted money), this revision of a recent post also provides advice on:
  • Donating when we are delinquent on paying our bills.
  • Donating when our spouse has a different idea.
  • Donating when our income comes from Social Security or other retirement funds.
If you are a pastor in a local church, please consider making this Tithes and Offerings resource available to your parishioners.

Blessings,
Tim
