The Last of Year C

posted Oct 15, 2013, 4:06 PM by Tim Isbell   [ updated Oct 16, 2013, 6:57 AM ]
This post completes the sermon postings for Year C. It is something of a milestone as I've now posted sermons for the entire 3-year Revised Lectionary Cycle! While there are a few Sunday's without dedicated sermons, there are many Sundays with multiple sermon options that can be moved around to fill in.

I'm not finished working on this Sermons section of the site. I'll soon begin converting the Year A sermons into Google Docs (they are now posted in downloadable Word files). In the process I'll add some refinements and probably a few more new sermons.

However, the main purpose of today's post is to provide resources for 4 stand-alone sermons for the rest of this Christian year, and also an important 5-sermon series on Healthy Thinking.

Not a lectionary preacher? No problem, you can fit these sermons almost anywhere into the calendar.

Not a preacher at all? They provide good devotional material as well as resources for Christian teaching you may do.

Here are the titles:

  • Yes, No, or Not Yet (Luke 18.1-8)
  • Ministry of Encouragement (2 Timothy 3.11)
  • Lessons from Haggai (Haggai)
  • Things Are Not Always as They Seem (Luke 23.33-43)
  • Healthy Thinking 5 sermon-series (Philippians 4.8)

For more about these sermons just follow this link: Year C, Ordinary Time (Late), and browse down to the entry dated "10/20 (C Proper 24) Yes, No, or Not Yet." There you will find synopses of each sermon, with links to detailed sermon notes and other supporting material. You can use these sermons as a source of ideas, or just make them your own and preach them.

While these sermons are priceless, they are also completely free.

Blessings,

Tim
