Story Corner: Monterey's Homework Club

posted Feb 14, 2013, 9:52 AM by Tim Isbell
I'm opening up a new corner in my website and it's dedicated to stories from various places around the Alternate Kingdom. I intend to fill it with "guest posts" written by people who frequent my site - people just like you. The Story Corner will become a place where you can browse for new ideas, receive some encouragement, and learn about some ministries or individuals who need your prayer. And it's a place where you can praise the Lord by sharing your story.

For example, take a look at first entry in the Story Corner. It is a "guest post" written by Kevin Mayer describing a local church ministry he started: the Homework Club at Monterey Living Hope Church of the Nazarene (California). It's a nifty ministry among middle and early high school students. If 100 people read it, it will encourage all of them and 4-5 will give it a try.

I also intend to include "guest posts" of stories about individuals. For example: stories of someone's journey to faith - maybe your's. Or stories about finding God's direction in a confusing time. Or stories of people experiencing God's presence in difficult times.

So, please take 5 minutes to read about the Homework Club that in Monterey Living Hope. Then think about your own corner of the Alternate Kingdom and ask God to show you any story that you could share. Then send me a paragraph or two summarizing your story. I'll read it and decide it's a fit for this section, and then I'll get back to you. If we decide it fits the "guest post" format, then you can finish your writing and we'll collaborate to publish it in the Story Corner. Don't worry if you're not an accomplished writer. I'll help you get your story into an attractive format. I have the capacity to handle about one of these a month, so I hope to hear from some of you soon.
