Preachers are readers.  We have to be in order to feed our minds fresh ideas that help us communicate God's message to his people every week.  We all read books and the news.  Most of us also read sermons from others, especially when they are based on scriptures that we intend to preach in upcoming weeks.  Well, here are 6 sermons that are worth your reading.  These fit most anyplace in the calendar, but are particularly appropriate for the lectionary weeks of March 6 through April 10.  You can connect to these at the Sermon Chart webpage, and then look in the left hand column for weeks A15 through A20.  Here's the list of titles:

  • Mountaintop Experiences (Transfiguration Sunday, last Sunday of Epiphany)
  • Sin - one of the 10 Big Ideas of Christian Faith.  (First Sunday of Lent)
  • Belief that Saves - differentiates belief about, in, and on Jesus.
  • 4 Habits of Contagious Christians
  • A Special Kid (David's anointing) - emphasizes that man looks on the outward appearance and God looks at the heart.
  • Where is God When Tragedy Strikes (Last Sunday of Lent)
May God bless you as you prepare and as you preach during this season leading up to Easter!
