More sermons for C Ordinary Time

posted Jul 22, 2013, 7:25 PM by Tim Isbell

Perhaps you noticed that I have not posted anything since May 19. Sorry about that. This is due to the combination of major illness in our family simultaneous with downsizing from our home of 20 years into a 2-bedroom apartment (while we look for a single floor condo for the next season of life). I may address some of the financial dimensions of downsizing in the Personal Finance section of this site someday - but not today.

Today it's time to post some fresh sermon material for preachers (and others who read such things for teaching or devotional material). The new content in this post is for the weeks beginning July 28. Here are the titles:

  • Sorting Through High-Sounding Logic (Colossians 2.8-10)
  • The Bulls-Eye Is Too Small (Colossians 3.1-10, Hebrews 10.11-25, Romans 12.1)
  • Trusting What's Over the Edge (Hebrews 11.1-19)
  • God's Family Stories (Hebrews 11.20-12.2)
  • Jephthah - the Danger of a Strong Faith and a Weak Theology (Hebrews 11.29-12.2, Judges 11 & 12)
  • The Resilient Life (a 2-sermon series from Hebrews 12.1-4)

For more about each sermon just follow this link: Year C, Ordinary Time (Early). Then scroll down to "(7/28) Proper 12" and you'll find the first sermon. In addition to a synopsis of each sermon you'll also find links to their detailed sermon notes. At the end of those notes you'll find a link to the video projection file that goes with it.
