Halloween Quote

It's October again, the month some Christians get theologically concerned about Halloween. I'm not one of them, but I do find some of the ways our culture celebrates this day a bit uncomfortable. So I decided to post this:

A woman asked her coworker, "What is it like to be a Christian? "The coworker replied, "It is like being a pumpkin. God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. Then he cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed, and then he carves you a new smiling face and puts his light inside of you to shine for all the world to see." [source unknown]

I figure if the world around me is going to promote October 31 I might as well take it as an opportunity to put an encouraging spin on it.
