Good News Sermons for the Easter Season

posted Apr 23, 2011, 9:11 AM by Tim Isbell   [ updated Dec 18, 2012, 3:26 PM ]
By the time you read this, Easter Sunday will be history and pastors everywhere will start focusing on the weeks leading up to Pentecost.  I hope you will take a look at this posting of Easter Season sermons designed for this time of  year (May 1 through June 12).  I am sure you will not preach them in the form I did, but I'm just as sure you'll find ideas and food for thought that will help you develop your messages leading up to Pentecost.  At the Sermon Chart look in the left hand column for weeks A24 through A28 where you will find sermon notes, PowerPoint files, and audio files.

Here is a short synopsis of the current postings:

  • May 1: Whatever It Takes (John 20.19-29)
  • May 8: A Not So Ordinary Walk (Emmaus walk in Luke 24)
  • May 15: Good News for Religious People (Paul in Antioch of Pisidia, Acts 13)
  • May 22: Good News for Simple Pagans (Paul in Lystra, Acts 14)
  • May 29: Good News for Intellectuals (Paul in Athens, Acts 17)
  • June 5: Living Through Discouragement (Acts 1.8)
  • June 12, Pentecost Sunday:  After New Life... a New Spirit (Paschal Mystery 2)
  • June 12, Pentecost Sunday:  Pentecost, 1 of the 10 Big Ideas of Christian
