When calling on someone who is Fearful or Suffering

In the morning I plead my case to you, and watch. (Ps 5:1-3, 11-12)

The LORD is my rock, my fortress. (Ps 18)

The LORD answer you in the day of trouble. (Ps 20)

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? (Ps 27)

O Lord, I have come to you for protection… (Ps 31.1-5)

Why should I fear in times of trouble? (Ps 49)

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. (Ps 56:3)

Be merciful to me... until the destroying storms pass by. (Ps 57)

He alone is my rock, salvation, fortress; I shall not be shaken. (Ps 62:5-8)

… we put our hope in the Lord, He is our help… (Ps 33.13-22)

You who live in the shelter of the Most High ... (Ps 91)

To share his glory, we must also share suffering (Rom 8.14-25)

We don't look at the troubles … look to what we have not yet seen 2 Cor 4.14-18

Because of Abraham's faith, God declared him to be righteous.  Rom 4.20-25

The one who began a good. (Philippians 1:6-7)

Glad to suffer for you… completing Christ’s suffering (Col 1.24)

If we endure hardship, we will reign with him.  (2 Tim 2.10-12)

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for… (Heb 11.1-3)

It was by faith that Abraham… (Heb11.8-16)

… we have a priceless inheritance… joy ahead (1 Pet 1.1-13, 19)

Let those suffering …entrust themselves to …Creator... (1 Pet 4:1, 12,13,19)

After you have suffered a little while (1 Pet 5.7-10)

So that you may know that you have eternal life. (1 Jn 5:11-15)

… that your body will be as well as your soul.  (3 Jn 2)

Around Death & Bereavement

I shall go to him, but he will not return to me.  (2 Sam 12:15-23)

At the last he will stand upon the earth... then I shall see (Job 19:25-27)

Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge. (Ps 16:1, 5-11)

Ps 23

Even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me. (Ps 71:18-21)

The Lord cares deeply when his loved ones die.  (Ps 116.15)

A highway shall be there... the redeemed shall walk there. (Is 35:4-10))

Even when you turn gray I will carry you. (Is 46:3-4)

Those ransomed by the Lord will return … everlasting joy … (Is 51.11)

Anyone who hears my word and believes has eternal life. (Jn 5:24-26)

The last word belongs to God ... God raised Jesus from the grave and his resurrection miracle all the terrors of death were overcome.

all who believe… become children of God (Jn 1.12)

When counseling about Temptation & Confession

We take every thought captive to obey Christ. (2 Cor 10:4-5)

When advising someone on Disputable Matters 

Let us no longer pass judgment on one another... (Rom 14:13-23)

"All things are lawful," but not all things build. (1 Cor 8, 10:23-33)

Stand firm, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. (Gal 5:1, 13-15)

Encouragement of Communications & Unity

When you are offering your gift at the ... first be reconciled. (Mt 5:23-24)

If another member of the church sins against you.  (Mt 18:15-18)

Let no evil talk come out of your mouth. (Ephesians 4:29)
